The Lasso is a button for the browser, making it possible to save images, videos, documents and links from every website in Zootool.

Save content in Zootool

After installing the Lasso you should really try to save your first images, videos, documents or links in your Zoo.
It's fast and easy!

    • 4. Add it to your Zoo
    With the Lasso you can save images from any website you like. Each image will get its own thumbnail in your Zoo.
    So it's super easy to find it again afterwards.

    Zootool can save your favourite videos from more than 30 of the most important video sites, like YouTube, Vimeo, Viddler or Blip.TV. Thumbnails included!

    You can save Slideshare presentations, Wikipedia articles, Scribd documents, as well as pdfs, txt files, Word documents, css and javascript files in your Zoo.

    Besides images, videos and documents you can also save links to websites and rss feeds in Zootool. And of course there will be a thumbnail for all this stuff, too, so you can find them as easily as everything else in the Zoo.
Your Zoo

The Zoo is your private space in Zootool,
containing all your collected web content.

You'll always find the link to your Zoo in the menu at the top, or just click here ...


  • The quicksearch spits out the first matches as soon as you type. You can search your Zoo by title, url or tags
  • Click on an entry and you'll find all the important functions: preview, edit and open.
  • Use the tagbar to filter your Zoo by tags. You can add as many tags as you like to each entry to organize and group them.
  • The calendar makes it possible to travel to the past and show individual entries from months or even years ago.
  • All entries can be either public or private. With this toggle you can select which kind of entries will be shown in your Zoo.
  • Deleting entries is as easy as adding them: select the entry, click the delete icon and confirm that you really want to delete it.
  • To make a public entry private, just click the green circle icon.
  • Even with hundrets of entries your Zoo will be easy to handle, because you can scroll right to the bottom without turning pages.
