What makes me mad are people out there, who put their entire life on Facebook and then complain about their iPhone tracking some data.

If it was encrypted we would most likely never known about it.They should say for what it is,make it encrypted and give the option to use it

don't get me wrong. i think it's an interesting set of data.
but i do agree with chris that unencrypted isn't great.

I would love to have that data. Unfortunately I gave my iPhone away a year ago. Latitude is not as cool.

Yeah it's great to have a visual representation of your path :) Is it just on your mac & phone? we need to wait to find out.

And to be honest, I really love to see where I have been in the last two years with that app :)

But as long as that data stays on my phone and on my Mac I still feel that I have enough control about it.

I think it would have been cool if Apple was more open about it and you could switch it off somewhere.

Unencrypted isn't great. But the data is general location (cell tower), not exact (GPS). You can find out more about my travels on Twitter!

Tracking mobile phones isn't a new thing, they've had that capability for years, what's weird is the data being collected on the user side.

well this app can read the collected data without asking. i guess it's not bad but kind of insecure.

What do you guys think about it? Is it a bad thing that Apple stores those data on your phone and in the backups?
