    Description: Atsuta Jingu, Nagoya Japan This is the traditional wooden dipper at the stone basin at the entrance to the Shinto Shrine. It is for dipping water from the basis for the ritual hand washing (traditonally the mouth, too) before entering the shrine (misogi or misogi harai).
